The Pledge

Shinobi is built on a foundation of absolute privacy. We believe that your focus data is yours alone. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on external servers.

1. Data Collection & Storage

We collect nothing. Shinobi operates entirely locally on your device.

  • Usage Data: Statistics about your focus sessions (time spent, rank achieved) are stored in a local database (SwiftData) on your iPhone.
  • Biometric Data: We do not collect, store, or transmit any biometric data (such as Face ID or Touch ID).
  • Account: There is no account system. No email, no login, no tracking.

2. Family Controls & Screen Time API

Shinobi utilizes Apple's Family Controls framework to block distracting apps. This permission is used strictly for Personal Wellbeing.

  • Opaque Tokens: When you select apps to block, Shinobi receives only "opaque tokens." We cannot see the names of the apps you engage with, nor can we track your usage of those apps. We only know *that* you blocked something, not *what* you blocked.
  • No Transmission: Your selection of blocked apps never leaves your device.

3. Third Parties

We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party analytics trackers (like Google Analytics or Mixpanel). We do not use advertising SDKs.

4. Your Rights

You have total control. Deleting the Shinobi app from your device instantly and permanently destroys all data associated with it.
